Moving outriggers for sale is a difficult, and at times, expensive endeavor. Each outrigger weighs an excess of 9000 pounds. Some of the higher torque outriggers and newer styles weigh more than this. While the normal method for new technology is based on decreasing weight, the outrigger is designed in such a way that the increase of weight increases its effectiveness. A small, light-weight outrigger is not able to lift as much as far away from the body of the lift as the outrigger with a heavier body.



The most common method for moving outriggers for sale is to load them onto trailers and send them to the buyers via the semi-truck. This method is not without risks to the forklift though. The legs of the outrigger are not designed to handle any ramps or instability. The movement of the outrigger is often facilitated through the use of a stability plate that bridges the loading plates, decreasing the angle of the loading plate as it bridges the dock and the bed of the truck. The other option is to use another forklift to pick up and move the outrigger. A much larger forklift is needed to complete this task and therefore this is not a common method of moving the forklift.



After purchasing the outrigger for sale, it is important to allow the battery to fully charge and maintenance to evaluate the machine for damage that may have occurred in shipping. Information regarding the previous company is often removed to prevent the employees from defacing the machinery. Preventive maintenance such as oil changes and hydrologic tests should be conducted before allowing it to enter into the racking system of any warehouse. To prevent the unauthorized use of the machine, the key should be removed and the battery disconnected.
